Rio de Janeiro  March 19

Today we went to Sugar Loaf Mountain for some spectacular views. We took a cable car to the top.

Everywhere they could find some flat land there are buildings.

Museu do Amanha (museum of global warming)

Set up shop on the sidewalk!

Churches everywhere! There are something like 340 churches in Rio.

This church was celebrating St. ?. All the lights were lit.
the Saint is holding the Christ child. People were waiting in line to get in.

This church is 400 years old. The craftsmanship is unbelievable.

Carving everywhere, even the seat of the chairs

We were walking back to the ship and noticed a Farris wheel.  So we decided to ride it
In Rio the people think that bad spirits live up in the hills, so that is where the poor people live in their shacks.

Sorry, it was kind of foggy and getting dark.
